PLAN OF SALVATION
1. POSSIBILITY:
It is possible to know you stand saved.
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you
that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name
of the Son of God.
2. PREDICAMENT:
We all have the same problem concerning sin.
Rom
3:23 For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
3. PARADOX: Eternal
death and eternal life are opposites.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the
gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
4. PENALTY:
Forgiveness requires the blood of a sacrifice.
Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
5. PROVISION:
Christ became our Substitute sacrifice.
Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own
way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us,
who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
6. PROCESS: Salvation
is received by grace through faith.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Titus
3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the
washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
7. PROFESSION:
Confession of faith in Christ leads to salvation.
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.
8. PROMISE: God
promises salvation as the product of faith.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe
on his name.
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh,
but after the Spirit.
